Important XFF Dates: Cut Down Day, Salary Cap, Practice Squad etc

There are a number of important dates on the horizon in the XFF and I thought it would be useful to have a handy guide to when these happen and what they mean.

June 20 – Unrestricted Free Agent Pool opens for bidding via league action

July 24 – Final day of Unrestricted Free Agent Pool

August 2 – First cut down day – Teams must reduce rosters to a max of 80 players or less.

August 16 – Second cut down day – Teams must reduce rosters to a max of 70 players or less

August 24 – Third cut down day – Teams must reduce roster to a max of 60 players or less

August 25 – Clubs may establish a Dynasty Taxi Squad (DTS) of up to 10 players

August 25 – Clubs may place designated player on Injury Reserve

September 1 – Final cut down day – Teams must reduce rosters to a max of 53 players on their active roster.

September 1 – All teams must be under the salary cap.

September 1 – Final cut down day – Teams must reduce the number of players by position to league minimum

September 1 – The deadline to extend players in their final contract year.

September 2 – Clubs must submit depth chart to the league.

November 22 – XFF trade deadline.

November 22 – Taxi squads are locked.
